drilled and slotted rotor question

This might sound like a stupid question but are there any issues turning/re-surfacing rotors that have been drilled and slotted?

50/50, not usually, but usually (on high dollar rotors) they put grooves on the edges of the rotor preventing you from doing so.

What are these grooves? I'd like to turn the mercs but I'd have to find that out first.

I have done my Rotora Slotted rotors before. My local shop did them.. Had no issue. Now just use them for the Track anymore, just as daily street driving rotors.

Your average places like the auto parts store and whatnot won't usually touch a slotted, dimpled or drilled rotor, too much liability.

Any machine shop with a lathe large enough (or a rotor lathe, more specifically) CAN give it a shot.

The groves DE's referring to are on the outside edge that mess up the more "automated" turning processes, basically the bit will bite in too hard because of the notch in the corner of the rotor. Any real machine shop would laugh at that groove and proceed with the resurfacing, though.

Additionally.. I think I have a slightly wonky front rotor, so I am either going to replace it with a new ring (2pc rotors) or get some $60 OEM solids and sell the 2 pc rotors off.

I think getting a 2 piece rotor machined is probably definitely impossible haha, I can't see any machine shop wanting to touch that.
