Default Light Braking shakes steering wheel

My steering-wheel shakes pretty bad when I brake lightly from 70MPH to 0. Looking at other threads I see the rotors may need to be resurfaced. I have 26,000Mi and mentioned it to the service adviser who said they might be able to turn them.

At this point I would assume I have 1/2 life left on the pads if that. Are there better options at the dealership to upgrade the rotor if they need replaced?

I have a 2012 Sport Touring Package M6

I am sure this thread is a familiar one...

One another note will I get some sort of indicator when the pads needs replaced???
