Base to sport brake upgrade PROBLEM
Did a quick search and didn't see this pop up. So here's my story.
I purchased the 40th anniversary calipers and brake hardware brand new from nissan, at a good price because I have a connection. I went with powerslot slotted rotors, and hawk HP+ pads, as well as goodridge SS lines. Here's the problem I go to hook up the lines to the calipers, and the caliper is missing the adapter where the lines are supposed to connect. The stock brakes use a banjo bolt, but the sport calipers are different. I contacted the dealer and they told me that the fitting I need is not sold separately, but comes with the oem sport model brake lines. Is there any SS brake lines that I can buy that would come with the fitting to just screw right into the caliper, or am I going to get hosed by the dealership and spend unnecessary money on **** lines? Anyone with experience please shed some light here. Thanks guys...

[QUOTE=Triple's;2305666]From what I've seen, You're only replacing the rubber hose, And NOT the entire line to the caliper]
But the calipers came without any line from the caliper. And the stock line going into the non sport caliper, does so with a banjo bolt. So that stock line doesn't work with the new sport calipers. So basically I want to know if anyone who has done a sport brake upgrade, what the hell did you need to do, buy the stock sport lines? If so that's such a waste and I can't believe this hasn't been addressed already. Thanks for the reply trips

On an update, the hard line that comes out of the caliper is NOT included when buying the calipers from nissan. So in order to get the hard line, you must buy the complete brake lines from nissan. Aka, 234.00 plus tax. So, with that said, we will be making our own adapter. Ill post pics later. This is ridiculous.

I think it's around $80 for the front set and around $40 for the rear

The connection at the firewall between the hardline and the flex line should be the same for both vehicles (sport/base). You purchased Goodridge SS flex lines that run from the firewall hard line connection to the caliper. It sounds like you got the wrong Goodridge lines, you definitely need the version for the sport caliper. They should bolt right up.
On the factory setup there is some additional hardline that goes from the caliper to the upright, this is all replaced by the SS lines in the upgrade.

you can use the banjo bolt setup on the akebono calipers. you might need a shorter banjo bolt though, or you can just cut it down. The flange where the hard pipe goes in is flat, and the copper washers will mate up just fine. If you need to cut the bolt down, get an M10x1.0 nut from the hardware store, thread it onto the banjo bolt to where you want to cut and then cut it with a hacksaw, then unthread the nut.

Thanks for all the replies. For future reference to anyone doing this swap, BUY THE Z1 lines lol. I was able to fab it today and the brakes work wonderfully. I'd close this if I could but I'm sure someone can do that for me.
