Warped 'em again
Well, front rotors are warped again. 17,XXX miles. First time was at about 10K miles. Same set of tires that the car came with, stock original pads, no track days. Nissan told me they use shitty Altima rotors, probably a lie as I doubt altima's get rotors this large, but they seem to be cut from the same cloth. I'll post up what they do this time, as I doubt there is enough material left to turn them a 3rd time (They had to turn one of them twice the last time it was warped so bad, and removed a very visible amount).

Do you have the Akebonos?
I have the spork brakes and they seem to warp all the time, but they seem to just be from brake deposits on the rotor from standing on the brakes after hard braking. I was able to solve mine by a few 90-5 brakings done right after each other and then cruising for a while afterwards. Seems to wipe the rotors clean and they are smooth afterward as long as you don't stand on the brakes after. |

On a side note, resurfacing WARPED rotors has gotta be THE DUMBEST thing I have ever heard of. It's a common misconception that you can fix warped rotors with resurfacing... This is complete BULL... They get fixed for a period of time, but once you get them hot enough, they'll rewarp, and even sooner Reason: when you resurface them you're taking out the hills and leveling them with the valleys. No one takes into account that now the thickness of the rotor fluctuates over the entire disc, and the canes aren't straight either, so once the metal expands due to heat, it doesn't expand uniformly, and you're screwed

Anytime a rotor is actually warped, toss it. It's just going to warp again. See DEpointfive0's post above.
If it's just a slick/rough spot on the face of the rotor, go ahead and turn them or use DarkJak's method. Personally, I would not turn a rotor more than once, but I tend to be hypercautious with brakes and suspension parts.

But I still wouldn't turn them just for that And I agree with SouthArk, if I'm going to turn rotors, I'll do it only once, but you really don't NEED to do it, hell, I'll install new pads without turning them (unless the rotor has been chewed up) Also, to Importconvert, or anyone else, do you guys warm your brakes up?

Why are they warping? Are you getting on the brakes really hard and frequently? I was doing some really heavy abs braking last summer (driving on back roads with other cars) for like an hour and superheated and warped them. I fully replaced them and the pads for 300

I would get Z1's brake kit with new rotors all around. they give you the option on slotted or cross drilled & slotted rotors, pads, SS brake lines, and fluid. Thats if your going to change them out. Mine were warped just recently and I had new ones put on the front for more than the entire kit from Z1, I was just in a rush to get them.
They will need to be tossed out, bummer it's happened twice by 17,000 miles. I'm very anal about it now that I've had to get them replaced, these things are s*** as far as warping goes, they warp on everyone, yes the sport brakes. If your doing any sort of hard braking or continuous braking that will get your rotors heated up, a piece of advice is to not have your foot on the brake pedal at stop signs/lights because the brake pad material transfers to the rotor when its hot enough and creates bumps from the build up of transferred material "warped" rotors.
