Default suspension parts help???

New kid on the block. Also new to modifying and need some knowledge from you guys.

In the process of buying a new set of aftermarket 20" wheels. I also want to drop it about 1" - 1.25" all around. I'm looking into buying a set of BR coil overs, but I would also like to know if control arms, toe links, etc. are necessary for the drop that I would like. They don't have to be necessary for me to purchase. If someone told me I should to get the best drop without messing up the suspension, then I would also make a better and piece of mind purchase, without thinking I overspent. I've spent a good amount of time web searching for answers, but there seems to be endless parts and vague answers.

Also, if someone could tell me exactly what I should purchase, that would be great, too!

Any input or information would be greatly appreciated.

Id start by purchasing 19's. 20's on a 370 is barf, imo. Lowering 1.25" will most likey be too low to get back to stock camber settings so there is a good chance you will need the suspension components you mentioned (if you want to get back to stock settings). Im about 1.5" lowered and couldnt get my settings back to stock. Best I could get was 1.6 front and 2.2 rear camber. A little extra camber never hurt anyone.

Thanks for your input. Really appreciate it. I have looked around and have seen 19's on a 370z, but I really like the look of 20's. I'm more of a show than go kind of guy. I've had my fair share of speed in the past with fast stock cars and now I just want a really nice looking 370z. lol

I purchased BC BR coils, front control arms, rear camber kit w/toe bolts but i'm on the 19" Rays with spacers. Not everyone running coils goes with the front arms but I didnt want any headaches. I figured spend the extra $200 or so and get the best setup I could with the lowest drop without eatin up my tires. Dropped 1.25 all around and alignment shop got it as close 2 stock as possible. 3k on tires since drop and tires still look great and the stance is jus beastly. Peace of mind knowing I got everything I needed suspension wise and not cheaping out is well worth it 2 me. 20" on the Z with coils is hands beautiful though.

^^^ Thanks, Zgirl. That's good to know. Do they sell camber kits for the front wheels?

Ur welcome...as far as i know the front control arms and camber kit is all that is necessary for the front. But I'm no expertt ordered my SPC gear from Stillen and i told them give me everything I needed. I got a medium size box for the control arms and two small boxes for front and rear camber.

IMO, with the drop specs you listed, you'll be fine with some rear camber arms and rear toe bolts. The wheel wells on the 370 fit 20's perfectly. I personally wouldn't bother with a front camber kit unless you see the post-install alignment specs and aren't happy with them.

If you're thinking on going lower in the future, however, the front kit would be a smart investment now.

Cheshirecat, thanks for the info. My local tire shop guy, more or less, said the same thing. This gives me a piece of mind that he knows what he's doing. Thanks for the info guys and gal!!

You *might* have a little more camber in the front than you care for. Personally, I had a bit more than I cared for after a little less drop than you're talking about, which lead me to go with the spc arms (for now)

It's a really easy install if you do decide to go that route after the fact though.

Good luck! Post some pics!
