Default Creaking or Ticking sound from the brake?

Hey guys, I searched some previous posts already but not really sure if it's the brake. Some people stated that it could be the brake pads but I think I have plenty of pads left. When I take off slowly or come to the stop slowly, I hear "tick" "tick" and it's very annoying. What is causing this? I hear it only from the pessenger side's brake. When I reverse, it does that too. First I thought it was the sound from the exhaust getting cooled down so I disregarded. But as I drive, I found that it is completely 100% from the pessenger side's brake. Any suggestions friends?

Not necessarily anything to do with the brakes, can also be a sign of a bad wheel bearing. Can be as simple as a stone trapped in between the brake rotor and splash shield. From the rear it can also be axle noise (from the splines or the CV).

Best thing to do is jack up one corner at a time and spin the wheels by hand to see if you can hear anything. Once you've identified the corner then you can pull the wheel off and inspect more closely.

Is it in the front or rear? Sounds like the axle needs some lube. Very common on the 350Z. It could be a wheel bearing, but there's other symptoms that would go along with a bad wheel bearing.

It is coming from the brake on the front pessenger side. Usually how much does it cost to replace a wheel bearing?

How can you tell it is the front? The sound can be really difficult to isolate unless you are spinning the wheels by hand.

Oh, it's so clear that it is coming from the front. 100% sure. I also have driven right front of my friend and he said it is from there. yep..I don't know if I should fix this immediately because I'm busy..

If it is just a click it usually isn't critical but if it starts getting worse then you will have to act right away.

So, I went to the mechanic shop today and he said it is really nothing to worry about. It happens a lot. He said it's just those clips or hardwares on the brake pads can make clicking sound when it gets old and he sees a lot of G35s make the same exact sound. Damn lucky day!

That is a normal condition, a lot of customers drive nissans that can hear a popping, clicking noise when take off slowly or slow down. It's a normal condition to the vehicle when the ABS run properly. I work at Nissan dealership and I have seen many of those complaints at work.

FWIW, the Nissan dealerships and their diagnostic abilities have been quite poor in most of our experiences. In my own experience, I usually have to tell them what's wrong and then convince them I'm right before they do anything. On a few rare occasions though, I've been pleasantly surprised by excellent service.

Yea my whip is doing the same thing right now. And as someone said before it's probably not brakes..It's more likely a wheel bearing or axle. I think there was a TSB for the axle to be lubed right on the flange that hits the back of the bearing on the g35s

Check your wheel lugs. Loose lug nuts make a creaking noise, and it's free to check!
