Squiggly Brakes
Hey Guys
Been having some problems with my brakes recently about a month ago i had z1 stainless steel lines installed on my akebonos about a month and right after install i noticed if i was pressing my brakes between 10%-50% my steering wheel feels shaky, then when i get harder on the brakes its smooth until it gets into ABS the problem went away for a little bit but then just recently i installed a brake master cylinder brace and also carbotech xp12 fronts and xp10 rears, and went to buttonwillow i felt the same thing, even though they're breaking fine, they it is shaky in mid braking just ordered z1 2 piece rotors front and back to see if that will remedy it cause i thought maybe the rotors are hot spotted or warped, but can anyone tell me what they think this problem is? thank you |

Try bedding the brakes. You may have some deposits on one (or more) of the rotors.

Hi, I'm going with warped. The stock rotors are trash. I had the same problem, upgraded the rotors to drill slotted and felt brand new (no more shaking). The 2 piece you just got should look awesome and work as well.

Did you run any other pad on the car before putting on the carbotechs? I went from Stoptechs > Carbotechs after a day at Autoclub and the judder was bad. I don't think the Carbotechs like any other pad compound on the rotor - bed them again or have the rotors turned at a shop. It got rid of the judder for me. |

They may need to be bedded again. Depending on how you brake, you may need to run through the bedding procedure every so often to remove pad deposits from the rotors.
