Default KW1 Coilovers / Rear Creak Noise

I’ve had my KW1’s for about a year, less thank 5000 miles driven.

There is a creak noise coming from rear only, from inside the car it sounds line upper part of the coilovers...

Smooth roads no noise only bumps and is very irritating
Call has Z1 control arms and camber arms.... all are greased. Differential busing replaced with poly. Z1 Collars are installed too.

Thought it was rear sway bar.... put in stock with stock bushing.... same noise

What am I missing? Car rides completely smooth no issues with handing.

You have true coilovers in the rear?

Sounds like the spring is binding on the spring seats.

These are the KW1’s and reuse the stock spring perches / Mid links

Do you guys think Swift Thrust Washers would help? If so what size do you suggest?

If you are reusing the stock rubber isolators on the rear springs. The thrust washers won't work.

Creaking is usually metal on metal

Looking at the pic in Z1’s listing:
https://www.z1motorsports.com/suspen...QaAiNBEALw_wcB

Looks like it has an aluminum upper perch for the rear spring; because they are progressive instead of linear the diameter is different. Never seen thrust washers on a progressive spring but offhand I can’t think why it won’t work

I suggest calling SPL parts. They sell kw and swift and can figure it out
JARblue and sx moneypit like this.

Hmmm.... any kind of solution? I’ve read Silicone spray may help?
It’s pretty irritating, I can litterly press down my my trunk so the back goes up and down and you hear the squeaking LOL

IIRC all KW's use rubber mounts, so maybe they need greasing or somethin

Looks like both rear shock mounts have a ton of play, so we are changing them out now. Per the mechanic the rubber is worn out. Swapping them out for some KYB Rear mounts....will circle back if that's the fix!

Quiet as can be now.... The bearing on both rear shock mounts were bad and making noise. I had replaced with Moog when we did the coilovers....less than 5k miles and they failed. Hoping these KYB mounts last longer! Happy this is fixed
