Question for those running the Nismo branded pads
Hi everyone,
I am currently running the StopTech street performance pads on my Akebonos. I am looking to buy the orange Nismo pads but I’m a little hesitant. Some info on why I would like change these out: Pads dust like crazy but I knew this. My biggest complaint with the pads is that after every wash if don’t drive the car to dry the brakes, the pads “weld” to the rotor creating an ugly pad imprint. For the guys running the Nismos, could you guys elaborate on how the pads react to water after a wash? Thanks in advance. Edit: I am running Z1 2-Piece rotors Last edited by SchumiF399; 03-20-2020 at 10:41 AM. Reason: Add rotors |

Pretty much all pads do this. Some light braking will remove the imprint after a wash.

I have Z1 2 piece front and rear rotors and Nismo pads on the front.
Love the set up. No noise, but a little dust. Stops excellent and no rotor warp yet. My car frequently sees over 110 mph (at the track). I drive mine immediately after washing, so no imprint or rust. Last edited by SG4247; 03-20-2020 at 11:33 AM. |

Many times I backed the car out onto the driveway, washed, then roll it back in. I don’t recall seeing any pad imprints on the rotor.
Nismo pads, previously cryo treated Centric, currently RB 2 pc fronts, Z1 2 pc rears

The Yellowstuff and 10/8 combo pads will leave an outline on my RB rotors after washing, or rain.
