Default New EBC Yellow Stuff with New Z1 2 piece rotors

Hello folks. I've just bedded in the Yellow Stuff pads after 200 miles of so called regular driving, and noticed a slight scraping sound when breaking lightly. Just wondering if the pads still need more time to cure. Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah the EBC Yellow Stuff pads are an improvement but it is common for them to make some noise. After the bedding process the Yellow Stuff pads are good to use. They are meant to be used with normal and heavy braking. Also the longevity of this pad is quite good.

Ok, that's good to know. Today, I took the car out on some twisty roads, used the breaks medium to almost hard, then, I lost my pedal feel, then it returned to normal. Will the pedal feel get better with the break in? Hopefully, the dust will minimize as well.

I wanted the most aggressive pads for the street, I'm not sure I made the right choice. Would there be something better, or, would the Yellow Stuff pads be the limit? I'm thinking I would probably swap these out for the Carbotech pads for track use. I'm new to the forum, so pardon all the questions. Thanks again!

What exactly do you mean by losing pedal feel?

Was your 200 miles of light driving on the highway? How much did you apply the brakes?

If the manufacturer doesn't specifically recommend a bedding process involving multiple hard braking sessions from high speed (I don't think EBC Yellows do), then you'll need to make sure your bedding process includes plenty of soft/light braking to get some pad material transferred to the rotors to ensure proper brake performance. Neighborhood driving usually works great with stop signs or just intermittently pulling over every once in a while. If on the highway, you can apply *extremely light* pressure to the brakes (need to keep your speed) for a few moments at a time with intervals long enough to keep the brake temps from getting too hot - I shouldn't have to say it, but don't do this in traffic

Yeah, I did what EBC recommends after 200 miles of light city breaking. Then, I went on a slight spirited drive around some back roads. After that, I made five 60 to 10 mph breaking procedures and let the breaks cool down. I did smell some smoke after these runs. After that, then I repeated the same thing once the breaks were cool.

As far as losing pedal feel, maybe it is just a little break fade, henceforth the pads breaking in.
