Default Coilovers Question.

What would I need to be able to lower my car when I want. But raise it up when I daily it in the winter with my meaty winter tires. I’d be looking to lower around an inch but would want to get back to around stock height. Is this possible.

I mean, any adjustable coilovers can be . . . adjusted.

Here are the steps:
Buy adjustable suspension parts
Take the parts and your car to your local suspension shop
Install parts
Set ride height and adjustment for whatever the hell you want to do

when the season changes . . . you do the exact same thing for your winter set up\
Or hell, just slap your stock suspension back on

it ain't rocket science

now, if you want to increase cost up front, you can get an air suspension setup which is full height adjustable, probably with multiple settings you can store. It'll just run you a few thousand bucks

There's even a used set for sale RIGHT NOW:
3/8 Airlift 3H with 5 gallon tank - Needs Lines & Sensor Rods

There is exceptions, not all coilovers retain stock height. You should ask the seller before buying, the only coilover that I know can go higher than stock is Aragosta.

Powertrix is also able to retain stock height which is one of the reasons I chose them over Fortune. I couldn't get a 100% positive yes or no out of Fortune.

oops didn't read the part about higher than stock, powertrix rear can only match stock height which is still higher then some offerings.

Get an air set up. Changing coilover height is a hassle.

Another solution would be to get different size winter tires. They don't have to be "meaty", narrower tires work better in winter. 1" height adjustment for a season is quite a lot-are you OK with paying for 2 alignments a year?
There's plenty of space to stuff a lot of rubber under those fenders.

Also-lower car is better to pick some snowplowing contracts to make extra $$$$.

Ability to reach stock height will also depend on spring rate. The stiffer the spring the less compressed it will be under the weight of the vehicle. This may be why fortune wouldn't outright tell you yes or no. It depends.

Its tough to have your cake and eat it too. If you have to do this I would recommend swapping in stock suspension in the winter.

On a Nismo stock height is about 28" from the ground to the fender well. My Fortune's with 12k rear were 27" topped out.

He didn't require it, it was just an info tossed around, so Jhill input would be valid for op.

Tanabe also stating that they can retain stock height, but I don't know how good are their suspension parts.

Mine is 27" front and 27.25" rear. But remember mine tires. Stock tires, I would be lower.
