Alternative to Z1 2 piece rotors?
Hi guys,
My OEM front discs are warped and worn after 50k miles. Im looking for a replacement, i have a twin turbo setup and do some hard mountain driving in Germany sometimes. The Z1 2 pc rotors seem the most common performance upgrade. But because im from Europe and they are heavy, shipping is super expensive. Does anyone has a good experience with alternative options? Perhaps from larger brands? Thank you

I have no idea what the availability is, but the most commonly used 2 piece rotors (other than full BBK) for the Z from are Z1, DBA 5000 series, and Racing Brake.
Z1 are the cheapest. DBA are slightly more. RB are best and most expensive. FWIW, USPS has pretty reasonable international rates. I've shipped a large, heavy package for $120 when FedEx and UPS wanted $500+

DBA rotors makes the best replacement available for the 370z Akebono-sized rotors.
DBA-5000 T3 - fronts DBA-4000 - rears Z1 has the same idea, but you asked for a larger name. It's also what I use at the racetrack. Do NOT get drilled. Slotted is just decorative.

My shop says the Z is a bit heavy for the DBA-5000 T3 from their experience and suggest next time to get the slotted Akebono 2 piece rotors for a Z. https://www.z1motorsports.com/brakes...e-p-13954.html |

I have the RacingBrake 2 peice rotors. They are a bit $$ but worth it. I'm on my 3rd set of pads, and haven't done a thing to the rotors. They use a different grade of cast iron then anyone else.

I’ve got both Racing Brake and Z1. The Z1 rotors gave me a vibration the first track day I used them.

I think you're confusing pad deposits with warped rotors.
Ya can't warp a 355mm rotor unless you had the rotor resurfaced. - Unless you're stopping, i donno... the Space Shuttle.

I agree, whenever I install new pads, I got that vibration with my first session of the day, it will disappear with use. Also, if I lock the brakes and the abs works, I will get vibration which disappear after some time. Z1 has a great international shipping prices, I use them a lot, but maybe you would better be with DBA as they should have dealers near you.

I prefer the Z1 2 piece rotors. I would rather have a softer rotor that is less prone to warp than a harder rotor that is more likely to warp. Just me I guess.
