Default Anyone still running Z1 FUCAs?

I have a set of these on my car and I have seen the broken ball joint examples from the bad batch they had. I was sent the replacements and I installed them. So far I have done 2 track days and a bunch of Sunday morning backroad blasting with my Porsche buddies since then without issue. Now I do know a fair bit about metal as I have a hobby machine shop, I have done quite a bit of work on guns over the last 5 years, milling slides , fitting barrels,etc.... The old ones either were not designed right or the heat treating was done incorrectly which made them brittle and snap.

The pics I saw listed here showed them breaking where the threads ended in the drilled hole for the bolt, I would assume the new ones, if they are in fact redesigned, either use a shorter bolt so that stressed area has more material to prevent the same issue, or they just got the heat treating right. To be honest I am tempted to buy some new ones and cut them apart just to see what has changed.

Anyway so is anyone else still using these and if so what has been your experience. Just wanted to get honest opinions from folks who have them before I jump on the SPL bandwagon.

I was one of the one's that had the Z1 FUCA's and had multiple issues with them, first bolts backing out , got the replacements with stronger locktite, then a few months later the ball joints snapped off. After having my car towed twice and dealing with the damage from the issue, I changed mine to SPL and have not looked back since. No issues at all with the SPL FUCA's other then the price.

I have a set of them. Z1 sent me a replacement set of ball joints - I didn’t have any issues before or after replacement. They’ve held their settings just fine and haven’t had any issues with bolts backing out. I used the recommended red loctite when I installed.

the SPL's have caster adjustment; i think the only other option on the market that does is the Voodoo 13 ones

I installed both FUCA and rear arms from Z1 three weeks ago. I called Z1 prior to purchase and asked if I'd better go with SPC, John assured me that the issue was in first batches and was corrected. They have sold and installed many since with no problems. Got corner balance and alignment. So far so good.

They have built in increased camber but I'm pretty sure there's no adjustability

Looks like you can adjust both camber and caster but you'd have to unbolt the arms, adjust, and reinstall them.
