Default Red brake calipers

Hi, there! I have a touring (not sport) 370Z and would like to get red brake calipers. I’m not sure where to start. Do I need new calipers altogether? I called a high end shop and they told me they can get them painted but my calipers look a piece of metal with a lot of holes versus the smooth look of colored calipers I see around. Is there such thing as a “caliper cover”? Any pointers?

Sounds like you have base brakes. If that is the case, you only have one choice to upgrade to the sport brakes.

I liked the silver on mine & as they began to dis-color; I removed them (cleaned them well),taped off bleed ports & plugged line holes , then painted w/high heat caliper paint,,,2 or 3 coats...turned out well & cheaper than having powder coated,,,I’ll try & find pics.

No pics of calipers; only the mounting brackets-but if not prepped well; they’ll look like “Chit”
I left mine Silver & got Red Wheels instead.

Z1 sells the red calipers and associated parts to upgrade to sport brakes

Since it sounds like you have the smaller grey base brakes you will need the rotors and other parts

Same for the rear

Thanks, everyone! It does sound like I need to go into the upgrade route. My brakes look like the brackets that jchammond posted rather than proper calipers. You guys rock. (Can you believe that I called a shop specializing on Zs and they didn't even have a straight answer...)

You can also keep what you have and upgrade the rotors, pads, fluid, and lines.

Honestly, I don't need upgraded brake performance. I'm really just looking for the aesthetic effect. Shallow of me to say? I'll probably pay a lot of money for these dang red calipers.... LOL

Hahaha - I should. Not sure I can quite pull the full ricer persona, though.
