Default Akebono upgrade

So, i pulled the trigger this weekend and did the upgrade. people who run esr sr01 or sr05 youll need 20mm spacers for the front at least. Running 20mm spacers upfront, the tire will ever so slightly stick out. I didnt know that, i figured having 19s will work lol. Swap is simple enough. My personal opinion on the rear dust shield will be to remove them completely, or cut them to near nothing. Mine are scrapping so loud, its so annoying lol. I thought i trimmed them enough to not rub, but I was wrong. But, if you have any questions give me a message or post here. Ill Be more then glad to help

so was the necessary spacer fitment a 20mm minimum or could you clear the brakes with maybe a 10mm? also would buying the front wheels in +22 change the requirements any at all?

20mm is minimum you can go. My wheel offset is also +22 and that was what i had to do. Sucks cause my wheels kinda stick out, not my style but gets the job done!

Congratulations and great job looks very nice! I would recommend the Akebono brake upgrade if your will be seeing any track time. If not the stock Z brakes do ok for street duty. The color you painted your Akebono calibers look close to the color of the color of the brake calipers on the 2018 Subaru Impreza STI no joke.

Question, I love the stock 18's on my car now. Can I get away with this upgrade with just the 20mm spacers? I don't mind the stick out that much....thoughts?

Its funny you mention that, I was told they will clear stock 18s with spacers. Because the euro guy/oversea guys dont have the 19s as optional......someone else will chime in tho cause im not really sure

Did you buy the remans calipers from rock auto? I'm looking at upgrading my base brakes, these guys do not like to be pushed in the canyons lol. I had the EBC slotted rotors and yellow stuff pads in the front but i recently changed the pads and just got OEM ones. Can't remember if the yellow stuff pads sucked this bad bc the OEM pads start fading after like 20 mins.

I bought my rears from napa and my fronts from ebay!. Trick is you gotta use a1 cardone Part numbers youll find it to be cheaper. I only ran into one problem, right front was out of stock, so I bought a factory infinity one.
