Koni yellow adjustments ?
Hey guys, just purchased a full set of Koni Yellow Shocks/Struts wondering best settings for street. Have the swift springs with stock nismo shocks on now. Would like to improve the handling so purchased the Koni Yellows. What would be the best settings on dampening to improve over the stock nismo shocks? Thanks !

There is no right answer. See my post on damper adjustments to get a bases of how damper rate change effects handling.
Do i need to use Bump on KW V3 for DD? All does not apply to your situation as you only have one way adjustable dampening (most likely rebound with some change in compression) The first goal would be to try and reduce excessive bounce and body roll. So generally you should start at 0 (full soft front and rear) and work your way up until this goal is achieved. Adjusting your front shocks first is "safer" as it reduces the chances of oversteer and dive. Last edited by MaysEffect; 01-13-2018 at 04:46 PM. |

I have the yellows with the sport springs. Thinking about switching to the Nismo springs for a higher spring rate and minimum drop. For the street I have full soft rear and 1/4-1/2 turn from full soft front. The couple of autox that I have done I set them to 50% front & rear. It was a noticeable improvement over the sport shocks and my sport shocks only had 25K miles on them.

PM if you decide to sell your springs. I have been trying to find the 2015+ black Nismo springs but if I can't find any by March/April I may get a red set. |

I bought my konis for autocross but I ended up running full stiff front (maybe slightly less, as the adjusters are known to seize so I wanted to some room to move if needed) and then a couple turns from full soft in the rear. Running full soft rear and full stiff front made the car kind of loose on corner exit for my taste. Now the car rotates well and is planted when the pavement gets rough.
I was not able to notice any difference in the settings during normal street driving. |
