Default Looking for advice on replacing front brakes...

So Nissan says my front brakes are shot.

I've been getting my traction control light and brake light on while I drive. So I assume they are correct. I've got 41k miles on my 2013 sport package z...

My issue is they quoted me at 700 with labor for just the front brakes. Did this seem correct? Seems like they are charging 550 in parts, and 150 in labor.

Any help would be appreciated it.

Thank you

That's a lot of money for front brake pads. I'd expect more like $90 for parts, unless they're changing rotors as well; if they're changing rotors, I'd want to see justification for it. Find a friend who will help you do this job and you'll manage for sub-$100.

Sorry they said rotors as well, however. I'm not sure how they can justify that need. I don't necessarily trust them. So I'll ask a friend thank you

Swapping brake pads is dead simple. The dealer is trying to rape you.

Ask them to buy you dinner and lube you up first.

For a DD?

You can get blank rotors from your local auto parts store and pads for half what they want

I bet a non-dealership place would only charge an hour or two of labor, which should be around $200

This is also a job u can do in your garage, its just elbow grease

Yep. Pads and rotors are easy. If you can change your own oil you can swap out pads and rotors.

R1 concept has drill slotted rotors for the low. Got my front and rear sport break package rotors for about $330 shipped after x mas. You can get the oem if you would like for about $227 at the moment and they have a 15% discount when you enter 2018 code.

Forked out about $130 in stoptech sport pads from rockauto. FYI there is also a lot of DIYS on break pad and rotor replacement on Youtube for our cars.

So do you end up going drill slotted or standard rotors?
