Default Resurface Rotors

When I go over 50mph and brake, my steering wheel starts to shake. I had my local Nissan take a look and they advised that I resurface my front rotors. My question is, Will I eventually have to change my brake pads due to resurfacing? Should I just resurface and change the brake pads all at once?

More than likely, all you need to do is bed the brakes.

Resurfacing is one of the most over-sold processes in the car world. It is very hard to warp 25 pound of cast iron with the minor braking while driving on the road.
You probably have pad build-up, which could be cleared up with resurfacing, but you'd be better off trying a major bed-in process first.

There are many threads on rotor deposits on this site. They will tell you how to diagnose ("shudder" when braking), how to fix (bedding), and how to prevent (don't come to complete stop after hard braking).

Instead of using this site's search, I prefer to go to DuckDuckGo (or any other major web search engine) and add "site:the370z.com" to my search string. eg: rotor deposit site:the370z.com

I personally know at least 3 owners with sport brakes that experience vibration during braking. Are there some issues with the pads or rotors?

No issues with apds/rotor's, only issue with drivers not understanding that parking a car after flogging the brakes mercilessly results in the pads depositing pad material on the very hot rotor under the pads and when they drive off, the area of the rotor under the pad is a) slightly softer than the metal in the rest of the rotor ring due to differential cooling and b) the deposited pad material offers a slightly different co-efficient of friction to the rest of the rotor ring.

This shows up as pulsing under-foot and it is also felt thru the steering wheel.

Like I said, this is a primary example of the problem being located in the occupant of the driver's seat and not in the braking system

The fix is simple - it is called "bedding" the brakes again - Google is you friend and there is a link further up in this thread

same issue here, but only the drivers side. Turns out it has been slightly out of alignment and now my tires are uneven and the left one has a slight hop to it. I had figured this may have been the case, but was hoping it wasnt. New tires and alignment needed.
