Review: MeisterR Zeta CRD Coilovers
My BC-BR setup was wearing out after running it for 50-60K with mixed track and street use. I was looking for set of coil-overs that can provide excellent body control while still being acceptable for street use. My local shop, JTran Motrosports was just starting to sell these kits for multiple makes and models so I had to find out what was up. After driving their S550 Mustang for a while with the MeisterR setup, I had to see what they could do on my Z.
MeisterR 370Z Street Driving: I daily drive the car, so the ride quality and durability was still a priority for me. The Zeta CRD has 32 dampening settings (rebound/compression in one). And I was rolling around 15 Front and Rear (0-hardest 32-softest). It's very smooth and the car soaks up the bumps with no issues. Handling wasn't compromised by the softer setting either. I never felt there was too much slop or excessive shock travel when I decided to take a corner faster than average. Then, I dared to stiffen it up to the track setting to drive some back-roads; at setting 5 front and rear, the car responded extremely fast to any condition on the road. The difference between the BC and the MeisterR is obvious on these settings. The BCs would have that annoying bounce on the stiffer settings that result in unpredictable handling characteristics. The Meisters will give you the stiffness you need when cornering, but again, uneven surfaces do not phase the suspension. Track Use: I was finally able to make it to the track this last weekend to test out the new suspension. Running on MSR Houston (not the best track surface, but definitely not the worst), The car felt extremely balanced through the corners. The car was setup on the 5/5 setting, and I did not have any issues controlling the car over bumps or while changing direction. Here are clips from the red sessions that day (from what i was told, i was only slower than a BRZ with a built motor, boost, and full aero): There was a lot of hype in my local community about these coil-overs, and they're well deserving of that praise. Especially at a $1000 price. Other Setup Notes: Related to suspension and chassis, I have: -solid motor mounts -urethane trans mount -solid diff mounts -hothkis anti-roll bars F/R -Miscellaneous SPL stuff -Enkei RPF1s and RE-71R |

V3's are known to fail under prolonged track use on 370's. They can't handle the abuse. Sadly, KW no longer offers to revalve them for a linear rate spring, as they have the Clubsport lineup for that now. However, the 370 does not have a Clubsport option currently.
