When the pad depth remaining is the same or less than backing plate thickness, you change you pads ..... pull the wheel off and measure remaining pad depth ... it

When the pad depth remaining is the same or less than backing plate thickness, you change you pads ..... pull the wheel off and measure remaining pad depth ... it is the only safe way
