Default top hat installed wrong?

So I'm installing ark spring on my 370z nismo. I marked the top hat with the strut just in case it went on a certain way. when trying to reinstall into the car where the bottom bolt goes it doesn't align with the lower control arm. the strut is slightly off center to the point where the bolt wont go in. did i assemble the strut wrong?
