Default Install Price Question

So I contacted my local shop here in Houston, TX that has done some simple work on my Z thus far (exhaust & sway bars) to ask about an install price on springs, struts, rear chamber arms, toe bolts, and eccentric lockout.

The e-mail I got back quoted approx. 11 hours labor or about $1,200.

This struck me as entirely too high. Am I off base here?

I'm not naming the shop, but it one of the only two places here that are known to specialize in 370s...

Thanks for your input and help.

considering when I did all this myself (and I'm no professional) it took me 6 hours, I'd say that's way too high

Thanks pretty much what I thought -- even SPL/SPC only quote .6hr a side for the chamber arms, the toe bolts and eccentric can't take all that long, I would imagine the most time consuming thing is getting the springs on the front struts...

putting the new springs on the fronts took me about half an hour each. That was taking it slowly so I didn't end up with a spring going through my eyeball

Makes sense -- can't see why totally labor would be more than 6-7 hours. Guessing I need to try another shop and see what they come back with to be sure I'm not being taken for a ride (no pun intended)...

I have a garage, lift, air tools, if you want to bring food and wrench some. I can eat your food as you sweat it up all while banging knuckles smearing blood all over the place.

PS, I'm trying to get healthy so no junky food please. (But, I do have plenty of beer)

That's awesomely generous of you man -- unfortunately I have not the technical knowledge or experience to do this job myself. Also, being a pianist for a living -- I have to be careful with the hands...lol

Wish I could do it myself as I'd gladly take you up on the offer. Appreciate it greatly...

I was kidding with the eating and watching. I can help with the install really. I have not installed the struts and springs yet but I bet it isn't that bad of a job. I have done everything else.
