Broke a wheel stud

So i was removing my front passanger side tire to clean the inside part of the rim and who ever owned my Z before me, went KING KONG on tightning

Default Broke a wheel stud

So i was removing my front passanger side tire to clean the inside part of the rim and who ever owned my Z before me, went KING KONG on tightning all the lugs and removing 1 of them jsut twisted the damn stud in 1/2 I made an apt to have Z1 motorsports fix it for me on friday.. JUST LOVE THAT PLACE I feel so lucky having that place 5 mins from the house. Could easily take it to a tire kingdom or similiar place, but when you go to Z1 you know your car wont leave with scratches, and you know you are in good hands.. plus their showroom is so cool to walk around in!

If you can't find a DIY, the FSM should have a stud R&R procedure.

As BGTV8 mentioned above, I'd change all the studs on that wheel that were over-tightened. And I would make sure the other wheel studs on the car weren't over-tightened; replace as needed. And oil pan drain plug. And anything else that PO might have over-tightened.

i found the DIY write up on how to install a stud, looks simple. Called all my near by parts stores and no one has them. Ill just have z1 do it

this is why i remove all wheels myself(even getting new tires)and use hand torquing ratchet...tire shops are for speed and they have these huge air guns, dont do lugs in sequence and slam bam they are done...

UPDATE:: I just drove to Z1 and bought the some studs and nuts and replaced the stud myself.. took all of about 1 minute to do and you dont even need to remove caliper, there is "JUST ENOUGH ROOM" and a "Notch hole" in the backing plate behind rotor to pop the stud out and slide new one in!!! Was super easy. I bought several studs and nuts for future if ever needed. Again, thank god for Z1, as they are the only ones anywhere near me that have them in stock!! Anyways, thanks everyone for your feedback, this sure is a great forum.
