Coilover questions
Alright so I got a set of BC BR coils for a great price. I've done shock and strut replacements before so that's not a problem for me. What I have questions about is how to adjust them. #1: Is it safe to assume that out of the box that they are set at the stock ride height? #2: All the lock rings confuse the crap out of me. How do I adjust the height of them?
Thank you in advance!

No you need to preload the springs. There are some videos at youtube to do this. Check BC coilovers website, they might have links how to pre-load.
Tuning the coilovers takes a lot of time and driving miles for finding the right dampening set up. I must have adjusted mine 10times and testing multiple dampening settings on different driving conditions before I got what's perfect for my driving habits. Ride height is another thing to measure and adjust multiple times to make sure your car is balanced. Or just bring it to your local suspension mechanic who knows to adjust this things. It's such a pain in the arce..but once you dialed it in perfectly ....the ride comfort and stability is night and day from Oem shocks. Happy motoring! |

#1 mistake: To assume in getting a set of coilovers is just as a Simple Plug and Play.
Having coilovers takes a lot of learning, trial and error in finding how your car behave with your current set up. I even log in my different set ups in a notebook on different road conditions. "It's a pain to have yet fun to have." |

Alright then thanks guys. I might bring this over to a shop my friend works at and let them do it right. Or at least see if he'll guide me on how to do it since I like doing this kind of stuff myself
