2010+ navi into an 09 base model?

Is it at all possible to install a 2010+ Nav into an 09 base model? (to my understanding, there were significant changes between the 09 and 10 models)

wire harness changes probably limit the change over. No one has (to my knowledge) ever put a Navi head unit in a non-navi, nor changed from 2009 navi to any other year model successfully. I'm certain that if the conditions were met: Nothing else to do with your time, all schematics/wire harnesses obtained and all parts for change over in the wire harness obtained, it could be done.

You would need ALL of the head unit and stereo componments to support it, plus the modifications to the wiring harness. Possibly issues with the CANbus and ECU too.... I would move on with something a little more practical and possibly easier than this....

The estimate on adding Nav to a non Nav car has always been around $10k, which makes it cheaper to sell your car and re-buy one with Nav.
There was one member (DeLorean) who was going to add Nav to a Bose package car... But he decided not to go through with it.

Yeah Delorean couldn't get all the wire harness issues resolved, due to lack of information and difficulty of obtaining parts even if he could identify them.

Define clean.
Most, if not all are going to be in the lower portion of the dash area. Usually 6-7" screen with a few buttons for controls. This leaves the cubby door above where it is.

The next level, though not for navigation purposes (directly) have been screens in the cubby area. So say run OEM radio or aftermarket and then place a 7" tablet or screen in the cubby. A few examples of this option are below:

Most have followed the same format I wrote up a couple years ago. You take the OEM navigation dash piece (Link) and then fill in the screen with whatever you want (tablet/7" screen). Then fill in where the keyboard would have gone with filler.

I am on the side of using the OEM nav panel and then a 7" screen plugged into whatever you want. A tablet is a good idea, but just need to make sure you can get access to USB connection if ever need updates.
