Aftermarket headunit fitament
A couple months ago I installed a Pioneer deh-x6600BT single din receiver in my 2014 z. There is something inside that is pressing down on the top rear of the receiver that is causing the bottom to bulge out. Does anyone else with a single din receiver have this problem?

Sounds like you have wires pushing it out. What dash kit did you use? I know when using the stock metal brackets the head unit will not move at all because of the pre made holes to line up. The aftermarket plastic ones with sliders can be pushed out if there is something behind your unit when reinstalling.

^^ wat big said.
those plastic brakets are pretty soft. i would also go back and reposition the harness. btw, a lot of folks for some reason solder those leads using almost the full length of the metra/scosche harness. why are you doing this? just cut it shorter! and use zip ties to organize. |

Man, do I EVER HATE those stupid cheap plastic "Cubby" single DIN adapters in any shape, fashion, or form. Cheap plastic that has little to no adjustment for height, depth, and why oh why didn't they include a knock out piece for the "cubby"? I hate that cubby, it's just a place to put things to get stolen. It just looks like ***. Cheapens the entire install, and screams, "Amateur"!
But, I've used dozens of them when I had no choice or time to fabricate better. No offense to the OP. |
