Default Hey! Help on my setup?

Hello guys!
I tried reading the threads about car audio but I'm pretty slow and didn't really understand much... the ohms x rms thing is confusing me so I was wondering if you guys could help me...

Let's say my budget is 500$

I have a monoblock amp,
Extra battery for sound systems
and a sub so i wont need those

What are the best bang for the buck speakers I could get? I drive a base Z
I read up and found out that JL and Polk are pretty popular here.. but they seem very expensive.. I also am not sure about what kind of amp I need.. I think 4 channel?
Also need help on choosing a double din!
Thanks you guys and sorry for bothering..

If your planning on running front speakers only along with that sub, you should look at a set of components, and a 2 channel amp.
The wont need the extra battery, trust me. As far as speaker brands go, You're going to hear everyones favorites, not whats right for you. You need to shop for yourself, within your budget, and if possible listen to them somewhere before you buy. Everyone has different tastes, and different Ideas of what is expensive and what is not.
My opinion of the 2 you mentioned..... JL is ridiculously overpriced on everything they sell... And I have used both the Polk DB's and Polk MM's. Niether one impressed me, although the MM's did sound much better. If you thought the polks were expensive, you don't want to hear my recommendations. $500 budget is not going to help much for a DD head unit, Amp and Components. I suggest you save up a little more $$$
Remember, your entire audio system is a chain, and its only as strong as its weakest link. Chose your weapons wisely.

As Ron said you don't need a spare battery, for a sub and amp as well as head unit 500 is a bit tight. Polk db's are a great budget speaker ad you are correct JL is expensive and I am not really a fan of them for that price point. Basic speakers on the car market are 4 ohms so you don't need to really worry about that, subs are a different story. I did a write up under the thread car audio 101 about that. I'd recommend either running your new speakers off a new head unit or running a 5 channel amp giving you 4 channels bridged to 2 for more power as well as a 5th for a sub.
