2013/14 Bluetooth Audio question?
I was looking to see if anyone can give some advise on if there is a quality difference they notice from listening to the radio CD or XM - to using the blue tooth option.
For instance I can tell when I use my blue tooth for phone calls the quality in sound drops from actually hooking my phone up with the AUX cable for phone calls. I was curious if your ear can tell of a quality drop in sound when using the blue tooth audio option for your phone. Thanks.

Bt audio quality is horrible. No matter what your playing and to what device. Your best bet is a hard wired connection.
Bluetooth audio? Bluetooth Quality

aptX - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This doesn't work with the stock bluetooth, but if you want to run an aptx-enabled adapter with a compatible smartphone, you may be surprised with the results. This is the receiver I'm using paired with a HTC One Amazon.com : Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit for Cars with Aux Input Jack (3.5 mm) - supports aptX : Wireless Cell Phone Car Speakerphones : Electronics |

Yeah I can now live with A2DP BT quality if it's a audio specific BT chipset from someone like Parrot. BT has really come a long way. Hands Free BT audio in handsets is limited to the characteristic "vocal" band of the telephony signal. Not the same as A2DP.
A run of the mill CD of a good recording is far better than an MP3 of the same quality, but you know what? Nobody cares. It's "Good Enough" to use an MP3. I make a living in audio and MP3 is fine with me as long as it's good quality. It's so easy to rip to MP3 and put it in a mobile device. Besides, going down the road I can't hear the diff. So, to recap, BT A2DP has come a long way lately. A cheap BT chipset will sound cheap. I couldn't live with BT on my ears though, rather have a good pair of headphones/earbuds for that. |
