For those with aftermarket headunits and steering wheel control
Alright audio experts, I am in the process of piecing together everything I need for my audio system and I'm down to the last few odds and ends. I need to select an adapter to make my steering wheel controls work with my new head unit, and I'd like to know what will work the best and be easiest to program. Is there any difference between the 3 options below?
For reference I have a Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS headunit. The three options are the Axxess, PAC, and iDatalink: Axxess ASWC-1 Steering wheel control interface — connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to an aftermarket stereo at Crutchfield.com PAC SWI-RC Steering wheel control interface — connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to an aftermarket stereo at Crutchfield.com iDatalink Maestro ADS-MSW Steering wheel control interface — connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to an aftermarket stereo at Crutchfield.com Thanks in advance for any advice! |

Get the Axxess
The auto programming only recognized the volume controls on my steering wheel. Had to do the manual programming to get the other buttons to work...took less than 3 minutes. |

Cool, thanks for the input guys... I just didn't want to be stuck paying the installer for an extra 5 hours of labor just to program one of these things (I read some horror stories).

ASWC all day, all 40+ 370z's except for 3 I have used the aswc along with many other makes and models and swear by it.

Axxess Metra ASWC-1 with the Micro B connector.
Update the firmware (just used my phone's Micro USB to USB connector and plugged it to my laptop) from the website and it auto programs itself once connected with no issues.
