Has anyone had any success in completely soundproofing the doors? I just got done installing the Xtreme Dynamat door kit, and I'm still getting all sorts of buzzing

I'm going to do the doors next week, I've done the trunk and the floors so far. My friend did the doors, and it was pretty good. He's no longer active though

A lot of times the buzzing is caused by loose wires and the interior panel mating with the metal door. Before button things up, wrap the wires (speakers, power door. windows, light) with those foam tape for windows and doors you find at Home Depot or Lowes. This will prevent the wires from vibrating against the hard surface causing the buzz. It also help to mat the interior door skins since it will increase mass.
FYI - The premise of sound dampening materials are designed to increase mass thus lower the oscillating frequency. This would require more energy to vibrate the increase mass thus the vibration would decrease. The side benefit is that if enough materials are used, it can seal the whole door thus naturally will make it more solid and better for the speakers to perform.

I ended up doing the doors on my latest Z (did it on the previous Z as well). I then had other rattles caused by my 2 12" subs. What helped the most was simple felt tape. Where panels met panels or metal, I put in some felt tape. Rattles and buzzes gone.
Now if the neighbors would just stop complaining, all would be well. |

I did everything from the wheelwells back so far. I'm not doing the doors until it's time to replace the speakers so I only have to pull the doors apart once. I used Raamat and Ensolite foam on top. The foam does as much, if not more than the deadener.
RAAMmat BXT II, 37.5 sq ft bulk pack. - RAAMaudio Inc. Ensolite IUO Peel and Stick --- 1 yard (13.875 sq ft) - RAAMaudio Inc.

Depends on how much you get. I don't remember how much I ordered.

I think my idea was best.
Spray a good layer of plastidip down, let it dry, THEN put the sound deadening down. That way, if you ever want or need to take it off, it won't be 100 times harder. Fair warning, it will smell like plastidip for a few days
