Default Metra 40-NI12 Antenna Adapter

Does this antenna adapter have it's own harness or wire it plugs into on the car? I know the Motorola male plug goes into the back of the stereo and you solder the blue wire on the adapter to the blue wire on the back of the stereo. What does the gray part plug in to?

Thank you! I though that must be the case but just wanted to know for sure.
