2 channel amp question
So I put in my component speakers powered with an aftermarket headunit (17w rms). Everything sounds great when I'm parked but when I'm flying down the road it just seems like the component woofers aren't hitting very hard. I got crystal clear highs but not much thump. The component speakers I got are rated for peak 45w rms. Do I need to get a 2 channel amp with about 50w rms per channel to make em hit harder. I'm not looking for <40Hz thumping but it just seems that the woofers aren't getting the power they need. I've verified they are wired in correct phase too.
I've looked for a 2 chnl amp but the ones I find seem to have crapola SNR of around 80dB. I'm used to amps in the 95-100dB SNR range. Any opinions on these lower SNR amps? I'm not looking to spend much more than about $150 for a small 2 channel amp. Any recommendations from the audio gurus?

WoofersEtc.com - PRS-D800 - Pioneer 2-Channel Class D Amplifier Can be had elsewhere on the web for about $149. Good, solid amp, small footprint, and some headroom for you power-wise as well. If she sounds good while parked, its simply road noise drowning you out, as you suspected. More power never hurts!

SNR around 80 db is relatively low for an amplifier. Are you sure the reading is for straight SNR and not Crosstalk SNR? Meaning the SNR between channels? That said, it is not as bad as you think given the car environment. Road and engine noise is way more than the noise floor of the amp.
