Garmins in general are pretty good. I've had two portables and two Kenwood HUs with Garmin. Gets me where I need to go with no problems.

Garmin nuvi50LM with a sunvisor clip mount on the cubby door.

Works great for me but I haven't used any other nav systems to compare it to.

I have an older Garmin 1490 LMT my girlfriend got me. Lifetime maps updates and traffic, so I'm pretty much set.

Waze and Navigon on smartphone. Mostly Waze as there is good cop reporting (particularly helpful in Virginia).

recent googlemap update sucks with too many features imho. good as a toy to screw around at the office, but too dangerous to use while driving. i reverted back to the earlier version.

i use nuvi's in my cars.
