Default LC2i Settings?

I have the stock Bose system w/o Nav and have hooked up an LC2i to the subwoofer line-level (after amp). I am having some strange symptoms when playing music, the aftermarket subwoofer gets louder and quieter randomly, any thoughts? Maybe I have the LC2i set incorrectly.

I have the LC2 and plan on hooking it up sometime this summer, so I am also curious about its settings.

I would assume since Bose uses a lower impedance (like as low as 1/2 Ohms) could cause a set up like this to fluctuate based on the LC2i trying to convert the information from one signal to another. this is just partially educated guess...

Here is a thread I had going awhile back.

Converter to plug into line that runs to Bose Sub?

Thanks, but none of that really answers my question...

It was more for the guy who posted above me, not this thread. If I found my answer in that thread I wouldnt have posted here saying I was looking for the info as well.

The stock sub is 1.8 ohms, I just measured it.

I may have figured out the issue, there is a knob on the LC2i for setting the gain, or so I believe, of each RCA output, the LC2i outputs a high voltage (9.5 V) and my amp only has sensitivity from 400mV to 8V, therefore I may have gotten some clipping on the signal. So I turned the "bass" output knob all the way down and it seems to be good, I will do more testing and fiddling and report back the results.

That was definitely the issue. I measured the output voltage on the RCA lines and it would indeed surpass the 8V mark. As for settings, I have the accubass level turned all the way down, and the accubass threshold (little white adjustment screw between the RCA outs) all the way counter-clockwise. This ensures that the LC2i doesnt mess with the Z's signal since it does not get rolled-off like some other cars do. As for the wiring of the sub-level speaker wire to the input of the LC2i, I found that splitting the one channel into two and wiring them both to the LC2i gave me the best signal. IIRC the Purple wire is negative. Finally, the main knob and the bass knob. I have the main output turned all the way down since i am not using it and i have the bass knob (which controls the gain of the output signal) turned up approx 1/8 the way from the lowest setting. This seemed to give me the best results with my particular amp and sub combo.

So with the accu bass turned down if you were using a acr-1 remote knob would that still work. To measure the rca's voltage out was that ac voltage using a volt meter?
