Default Volume Knob

Hello everyone. So I probably have the similar problem as most of you do regarding the volume control knob turning up too loud or too soft. So I pulled the knob off to look inside and when replacing the knob, I can't get it back in the position as it was before. It simply comes off now. What can I do to get the knob back to where it will take a bit of force to pull it back out? I hope I'm making this clear.

If the post the knob slides onto has a deep slot in it, you can use a screwdriver to flare out the "tabs" to make a tighter fit.

I'm not sure what tabs you are talking about? Can you see it in the pics I've attached? This is a pic of the removed knob.

I was referring to the post that come out of the radio. But I don't remember ever seeing a knob that looked like that, so the post may not be adjustable.

If nobody comes up with an answer, look in the FSM (link in my sig).

If there's a flat edge, be sure it lines up with the post you're pushing on to. Also looks like the metal clamp holds the knob on. Likely have to push pretty hard to get it to click on.

I got it, thank you. Just had to make sure the piece on top is positioned correctly and it will go in snug.
