Default Cant figure out where the Amp is

About to pick up this Z tomorrow. I went to the dealer yesterday to take a look and I couldnt figure out where hell the amp would be hiding. In my 350z, the amp had a little air flow so it wasnt stuffed in a small spot. On this Z, which has 2x10s, I figure the amp would want so air flow as well...and definitely wouldnt be running of the stock bose amp...I hope not at least.

Any thoughts on its location would be great

The obvious, Have you looked where the spare tire goes?

I've also seen people put them under the seat if it's small enough.

My first guess would be under the strut cover. Possibly on either/both side(s) of the drivers.

have you checked where the spare tire goes? could be within the enclosure, maybe?
I've got mine tucked into the back, under where you subs are sitting.

this is what I needed, so I can do another thorough search. It obviously wasnt good enough the first time

thanks fellas...Ill need to do another check through the car. I looked down by the spare but didnt see anything but now Im second guessing myself about looking in the right spot. I didnt look in any place that would seem too small for an amp. I thought back to the kicker amp I had in my Z, which was wide as hell...and probably a bit overboard for what I had.

yeah, your cargo mat appears to be sitting a little higher than stock, judging by how high it is on the cargo hook...... coincidence??

It could be towards the front under the subs where the foam is. I normally put the amp under the foam and place the foam over top of it. Another way is to trace the sub wire to the amps location.

I saw that few audio installers installed the amp under the enclosure.
in my enclosure by zenclosures when you fit the box to those bumps in the sides there is enough room to place the amp.
other will put it under the mats/front seats or behind the head restroom (where the silver pillar)

I'd bet $ it's under the foam plug forward of the spare. Seems like most folks install amps in that otherwise useless space.

OP - just need to take out the 3 large interior plastics to access that foam plug.

The worst part about this.. is the two large ones that cover the shock towers have those little V-shaped white plastic clips and I have never been able to R&R them without breaking/losing at least one. You'll know what I am talking about as soon as you pop those panels... no big worry though, you can pick up spare clips at the dealer. After you've removed those panels once, you'll do it the next time in <5min. It's pretty easy.

I'm doing well buddy! Married for almost 2 years now. Got myself a Infiniti for a daily driver. Still doing the audio installs and car detailing. Hope all is well with you too.

forgot all about the thread damn it!

Well, since I bought the car, two weeks ago, I havent searched for it but Im 99% of where it is.

I didnt find it under the seats or under the spare. The only place left is under the enclosure. Which to me doesnt seem smart since I always thought it was good to give an amp some air flow.

Im also pretty sure I hear it behind me and to the right when I turn off the car

Now Im more concerned about my head unit though. Stupid poineer head unit errors about 50% when it tries to boot into apples "carplay" bullsh*t. Since the Pioneer doesnt have spotify play, it has to use some apple garbage to get the iphones interface to show up...or it least "car plays" version of the phones interface. Drives me god damn nuts!

there is a fair amount of space under there, and if it is a class D amp (which it most likely is) most play as cool as a cucumber nowadays. I have 2 class D amps in that area, and have no issues with overheating.....
