Default My sub 2.0

A year ago in made and installed an 8" sub in my car, liked the fact that it fit under the cargo cover and was easily removed if needed. The bass was nice and tight, but out of boredom one day I ordered a shallow mount Sundown SD-3 sub for a little fuller sound. My intention was to also make it fit under the cargo cover, doing the math its going to be tight with the magnet being 1/8" away from the bottom of the box,and the driver being 1 1/4" away from the cover at the top.Its turning out quite well, still not carpeted or fully mounted, but have progress pics and will update when completed. Not sure, but I can't recall seeing a 10" sub that fit under the cover,so its definitely possible.

Looks good. Not sure how I feel about the magnet being so close to the bottom though. For practice I try and keep at least an inch. Will follow this post though. Good stuff.

The magnet has no vent hole in the middle and is designed to be actually touching the back wall if needed.

Yes,I wasn't clear,but it is a 10" sealed sub in a 0.50 cu/ft enclosure.Hopefully I have it all done this weekend.

I'm not impressed until you get a 15" under there.

Got er all done.As expected it sounds deeper and fuller than my JL 8" sub,but not quite as tight.I am a believer that drivers need time to break in,so I hoping it will get as tight at my 8" over time.Overall I'm happy with the results

I take it you are a believer that the more you pound singing the tighter it gets.

I finally got it sounding the way I like.Trying a few different volumes of insulation in the enclosure I got it to sound tight and musical, won't win any SPL competitions but fills my needs.Insulation really can change the sound of a sealed sub.
