Default 2013 370z nismo bose non nav: Double din aftermarket upgrade

2013 370z nismo bose non nav (keeping speakers at this point)

I read through the stickies but they seemed a little old so I wanted to ask to see if anything has changed. I am paying for the install but wanted to source the parts myself:

1) Is METRA the only face plate that works (bad memories from my RX-8)? I really hope there is another alternative. This is the one I found:
Metra 99-7607B Dash Kit Fits 2009-up Nissan 370Z models — single- or double-DIN radios at Crutchfield.com

2) I am thinking of going a little low budget. Was thinking one of these two for the HU:

https://www.amazon.com/Upgarde-Versi...with+bluetooth

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

3) So to get this in I THINK I need:

receiver wiring harness
Metra 70-7553 Receiver Wiring Harness Connect a new car stereo in select 2007-up Nissan, Suzuki, and Subaru vehicles at Crutchfield.com

ASWC unit, not sure which one is best for my model?
Find what fits your car - Crutchfield

Aftermarket antenna adapter? I am not sure which one I need to go with?
Find what fits your car - Crutchfield

Sorry for the newb questions but I know nothing about stereos.

If you're going with the Joying you can buy the Joying wiring harness and it's a straight connection, much easier than the Metra 70-7553, the Joying harness also comes with the antenna adapter.

There are a few face plates that work, I went with the best kit, fits like a glove, you get mixed reviews from the kits on cruthfiled, but I am sure they would all work fine.

I have the joying one you mentioned installed, already had the harness adapter so I don't know which one from joying works. But I can tell you that one is a bit slow. It starts up quickly but it's still takes 2-3min to load all it's background stuff. Once it gets running it's ok but still having multiple active apps especially waze and pandora can bog it down. The processor is a bit dated RK3188 is from '13. You may be better off with an the newer intel chip Intel SoFIA 3GR from '15 based joying models. If you ignore the speed issue, no other head unit has the functionality of the joying unit.

Why on earth would you keep the stock speakers?

Because some of us don't care about rattling the windows in our car or letting the whole block listen to our music on our way by.

Quality sound is not just about decibel level; it's not like I said anything about additional power from an amp or anything. But to each their own

Yeah I understand not doing the speakers from a cost perspective but you are missing out on the full range of sound, bose won't do highs or lows well or even at all. The sub is just two speakers and the tweeters are pretty much the same garbage from the stock tweeters which are too wide to product the higher frequencies. The first thing I noticed when I installed proper component speakers was all the higher frequencies that were missing before.

You don't have to upgrade your speakers but you are missing a lot of the sound from your music if you never do.

I guess I never really thought about it, because I haven't experienced quality sound in a car before.

Did you ever determine which harness it was?

Nope. I actually forgot I had the thing because I didn't want to spend 2+ hours taking apart the center console to figure this out, only to have to do it again when I did get the harness.

Still have yet to find a photo of the stock radio too. So I'm just going to say F it and order both harnesses they sell, one of em should work.

Thanks for reminding me I have this.

Just got my FI exhaust in, so in a couple weeks here I'll spend the day installing the radio, FI exhaust, and Stillen intake. Upgrade day

After you do it once, you'll be able to do it subsequent times in <5 minutes. I just did it yesterday, like riding a bike.
