Default Speaker Replacement suggestions / tips

Hello all,

I have recently realized my Kenwood headunit is putting out more signal that my OEM speakers can handle.

What is a good front door speaker to give me some better response / fidelity?

That's a loaded question...everyone on here will give you a different answer. Other then if you want better sound you will also need an amp.

Best thing to do is to go listen to speakers at shops around you with YOUR music. only you know what your ears like.

believe it or not, I had my factory speakers amped prior to my full audio build.... 100 watts rms, and they sounded quite good. I'm pretty sure your Kenwood head unit is in no way overpowering them. ( I'm not sure how long they would have lived, however)
I do however recommend changing your speakers for better sound quality..... Let's talk budget.

OP, your probably mistaking overpowering for clipped signal.

If your turning up the volume AND have bass boost and or LOUDNESS on, and getting distorted sound your sending a clipped signal to your speakers. Replacing the stock speakers will help this however if your looking for more volume it's time to look into an external amp to do the power handling.

My favorite part of my audio upgrade was replacing those so called teeters with actual ones that can do the highs.
Below is my complete audio build for reference, excluding the head unit which is garbage, everything else is excellent.

Alpine INA-W900BT +KCE-400BT
JL 13TW5 Wicked CAS Enclosure with Trunk Mat
Hertz High Energy Components HSK 165
Alpine PDX-F4 4 Channel amplifier 4x100W
Rockfordfosgate R750-1D 750W Mono Amp
Rearview Camera Pyle PLCM18BC

The huge stock tweeter just can't output high frequencies.

I'd prefer an Alpine component setup for speakers.

The Alpine SPR-60C looks pretty sexy.

I have those and I absolutely love them. Plus the mounting depth of them is so small because they use neodymium magnets
