Front door speakers acting up
Haven't been on here in a while. My apologies.
Anyways im a noob when it comes to audio stuff. Lately my two front speakers on the doors have been acting up. Both seem to go off at the same time. Sometimes it works next minute they go off. I don't know whether it could be related to loose wiring or speakers going bad? I was trying to go to Best Buy to see if they can take a look at it and fix it since I got my double din system installed there. I would like to check with the expert and smart *** advice from yall tho. lol Not cool trying to bump to music and your speakers acting up Any suggestions?

Aftermarket system? Installed by Best Buy? Sounds like a crappy installation
If you are comfortable DIYing, I would check the connections at the back of the HU first - since you say both speakers go off at the same time. I don't recommend going back to Best Buy to have them potentially screw something else up. But if they'll fix it for free, that may be a good option for you. I would try to find a local audio shop recommended by someone with direct experience. It may cost more money to have them fix it, but you'll have peace of mind knowing things are done right. Just my I'm no audio expert, but I have a fair amount of consumer experience Forum member bigaudiofanat is in NJ. He is the resident audio demi-god. He works on lots of forum member's cars and could probably do the work for you

I haven't changed anything in regards to the audio system. I have the Bose audio that comes with the touring package. Only thing I changed was the double din HU to a DNX9960. I was wondering if it might be the water that seems to get trapped beneath the door windows that might be reaching the wiring? but then why would both go off at the same time? I believe it may be the connection to the HU. it has to be

Problem is all the Bose crap has to go... Nothing made by bose is compatible with aftermarket. Add a pair of aftermarket components for the front and you'll be fine.
Bypass the factory bose amplifier too. Bose car audio is trash compared to aftermarket. |
