Lightbulb Rear and Front view camera with Hat switch?

Has anyone tried wiring a front/rear camera to a small LCD with a 3-way Hat switch?

The reason for this is that I am often scared of running into the sidewalk when parking forward or reverse. I am definitely going to get a rear camera, but thought it would be good to get a front camera as well.

Additionally, I wanted a way to turn it on/off via a 3-way Hat Switch:

So really, the questions are:

1) is there a small dedicated LCD available for the cameras?
2) has anyone ever tried this
3) is there a wireless solution?

Thanks everyone!

A switch for your rear view camera is a nice idea

But I personally would not use a switch that looked like that I would use something like this: Switch Panel on console

it would absolutely work. But as all have said, not that hideous monster switch.....
Kenchan, you got me thinkin' about a setup with that phonograph!!!!! Not sure how it would handle the bumps, though.

hahah, my bad guys, I am one that likes that retro look. Who knows...maybe I will eventually turn the car into a track monster and the switches will help :P

okay, so the switch aside....what do you guys think is needed? Are even monitors like that available? I'm assuming it would be just something I would hook up to a head unit and use it as on/off, right?

Most aftermarket double DIN screen HUs will have rear view camera capability. You can also buy a rear view mirror with a built-in LCD (I think the Gentex generic ones are around $150 or more).

If you go this route it is just a power, ground and reverse wire to hook up. Just plug the camera into the harness that comes with the mirror. and you are done.
I tapped into the drivers side fuse panel and used an add-a-circuit. Then tapped into the orange wire in the taillight wire harness for the reverse signal.

I realize this doesn't help with front camera though.

Something like Amazon.com : 4.3 Inch LCD TFT Rearview Monitor screen for Car Backup Camera : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Electronics but smaller, I can drop this in my cubby for the time being and have a 3-way switch for the front and rear.
