Potential 40th Owner... need help.
Hi, I'm going to be looking at a 40th Anni. Z later today. I've been wanting a Z for a while now, and I'm hoping I will give this one a new home.
Do 2010's or 40th Z's have any problem areas I should look out for? Rear hatch latch?.. oil consumption?... engine/transmission? TIA guys! I hope to be a Z owner like the rest of you. |

I know that I am VERY happy with the car even though there are potential issues (just like any other car out there). This is one of the reasons I purchased a Nissan extended warranty (Gold Preferred). So, if anything crops up, I can get it fixed by Nissan. All I know is that the car is a blast to drive, looks like nothing else on the road and is one rare beast. Good Luck with your search.

It's a sexy car! Just make sure you put an exhaust on it if it doesn't have one as you'll love it 4x after that.

I had the steering lock failure in mine. I also have a funky fuel gauge sending unit that is likely in need of replacement.

like onzedge said about the steering lock, that was the most common problem on 09-early 11's but can easily be renderewith the help of this forum

here's two different ways to fix it!
http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...=steering+lock Steering Lock: cut one wire. /switch optional That last link also has the harness available from the car kit company (bdl99 is the user on here that runs it) I went this route with the harness, opposed to the wire cutting or fuse pulling method. As an electrician I can't just cut the wire, and the fuse pulling just doesn't seem to be to good either. Fuse as used in design and are there for a reason, despite what the others have said I just couldn't do it so I went with the harness..... just my opinion though all ways work and have had many people on this forum all report back their findings so you can be rest assured that these will work and solve that dreaded steering lock issue! GL and enjoy the Z if you buy one! Linked it here again lol, just check the last page/pages for the info on the harness Steering Lock: cut one wire. /switch optional
