Redline 5w30 Oil Change Kit w/ Filter -- Now available @ Z1 Motorsports
Everyone,
Following the success of our basic Nissan OEM Oil Change Kit that we have been offering. We have recieved numerous requests for a similar oil change kit using the highly popular Redline 5w30 Synthetic Engine Oil. Structured similarly to the original Nissan OEM Oil Change Kit, the Redline version comes complete with the following items:
The above items are all you need for a proper DIY oil change. If you are installing an aftermarket oil cooler for the first time and are planning on performing an oil change as well. We recommend purchasing one additional quart of oil. Our new Redline 5w30 Synthetic Oil Change Kit starts at $54.00. You may find both versions of our Oil Change Kits here: Nissan 370z Oil Change Kits |

Since there are so many kits and variations on the market, the total number of qts needed will vary. Last edited by Dustin@Z1; 08-16-2010 at 09:07 AM. |

The NISMO oil filter uses a smaller micron filtering media which will catch smaller particles that other filters will not. Another visually noticeable difference between the OE and NISMO filter is the size of the openings inside of the filter. The OE filter (Produced in China) has multiple, tiny openings in the casing whereas the NISMO has a much larger, freer flowing case. By using this style case, there is an increase in overall oil flow and a decrease in oil pressure drop when measured on both the INLET and OUTLET of the filter.
I hope that this helps! |

Hey Dustin.
My kit came with a non-copper crush washer. It wasn't copper in color and it was magnetic (stuck to my drain plug magnet). Is it spec'd at the same compressive force as the Nissan copper? 5 qts put it dead nuts between L-and-H on the dipstick. Should I bother with a top-off? |

The manual calls for 5 1/8 quarts.

Good morning everyone!
I believe I have some explaining to do about our 370z oil change kits (both the OEM Ester Oil and the Redline 5w30) after a few discussions about it. I will admit that a factory spec Oil Change does call for 5 1/8 (5.125) qts per oil change with filter (this is without an oil cooler mind you). We initially began to supply our oil change kits with only 5 qts due to the fact that the remaining 0.125 of a quart not addressed seemed insignificant at the time. Keep in mind. You are talking about a capacity equal to roughly 3~4 standard shot glasses. The dipstick itself has a 1" mark reading a HIGH and LOW reading. This range between the marks is equal to one whole quart. To visually read 1/8 of a quart, you would be looking for a measurement reading of exactly 1/8". We felt that there was no need to supply a 6th qt of oil with EVERY oil change kit since you only needed an additional 1/8th of a quart. In theory (given that you do not spill any, etc) you can use that quart of oil for 8 total oil changes. We do sell individual quarts of both the Redline and OEM Ester on our website as well to solve this issue. It is my fault for not clearly stating this fact on our website. I will be sure to address that this morning. Our ultimate goal is to supply the parts all of you need and want for the best prices possible. Unfortunately I dropped the ball on explaining our thought process on getting you the best price possible on these oil change kits. |

Mize,
It would not hurt to top off the engine. If you do not have any issues with oil consumption and the ONLY way you could get the oil was to order and pay seperate shipping. Personally, I might hold off and throw an extra quart in a future order. It is really your call on this one. Dustin |

There's a racing outfit nearby that might sell me a quart. Otherwise I'll wait and order extra with my next oil change. I haven't seen any consumption so far but I've only go 3k miles on my Z.
