Uneven tire wear

Hi Y'all,

I'm getting what "looks" like uneven tire wear on all four tires but would like second opinion. The tires are the original RE50's and all four show the same sign which is a gradual transition of wear from outside to inside as per pic below. Tire pressures used have been as per manufacturer.

Also open to advice on replacements, I'm considering either RE11's or Hankook V12's? Looking for dry and wet grip plus low noise!

Sorry guys n gals, after posting the website brought up related posts and after reading it seems my tire wear is normal.

Still wouldn't mind advice on Hankook V12 (cheaper option) or RE11's which seem popular on this site!

Im still on the stock RE050, but planning on installing bridgestones S04s. Read up on those, great reviews and price isnt all that bad

Have an alignment done when you install the new tires. You may have a toe in issue that will cause excess wear on the inside. If you have installed lowering springs, get the adjustable camber arms. SPL or SPC.

looks like a toe issue from those scuffs on the inner tire. If you havent done a drop it should be as easy as an alignment.

those cheap tires are not asymetric, no reinforcement belts on the inner tread. check out continental DW / bridgestone S04 if you want inexpensive good performance.

dont cheap out on tires.

How many miles are on them? Not really too bad as the wear bars indicate on both sides that you need new ones. Mine did the same thing with the OEM's and Im running S04's now. Good tire at a good price.

TireRack is a good source of information for tires. I read that Hankook V12 is not a bad tire for daily driving. Many people like them a few years back. I am sure there are some new ones that are better.

Tire requirements also depend on your region. Some are really good on dry condition while others are compromise for both dry and wet condition. I am in SOCAL and I am not too concern about performance on wet condition.

Ventus V12s are on the inexpensive side so they are a harder compound which means a bit more road noise. Iv used Hankook tires for a good 8 years and either Im use to them or the noise isnt that bad.

My investigation on the wear is normal. It come's from the factory for performance. To get the tire wear better, the information I found was to set the toe to -0- in front with a hint of toe in the back, 1/32" each side. You will be doing a trade off for tire wear and losing some of the factory performance though. My tire guy said he recommended waiting to put the new tires on and have a square flat base before changing the toe. I haven't done this yet but will when doing the new tires. I currently have 21,000 miles on my 2013 base and my tires look a little worse than yours but are the same wear. Love your Z and happy new year.

23,000 miles on them currently, bought the car with 17,000 miles on and the tires were barely worn so I'm tryin hard to burn through these stock tires as I don't like em.

Size wise, I'd have to oversize the rears upto a 285 with the RE11 as they don't do 275 but this doesn't seem a problem according to this site, but no option to oversize fronts same as they don't do 255's.

The Hankooks let me oversize front and back by 10mm.,,,,mmm decisions decisions.

The next decision is whether or not to buy a HKS exhaust and upgrade intake's? Other than sound improvements I'm not yet totally convinced torque and power improvements are worth the expense?

You'll need a tune to get the most out of intake + exhaust mods. Whether or not the few extra ponies is worth the cash is up to you. Unless the slight increase in HP and torque is important to you, I'd go with a nice sounding exhaust (tune shouldn't be necessary) and be done with it. YMMV

You need to decide what you are chasing as I spent a lot of money on N/A bolt ons just to go FI! If you don't know then spend your money on performance parts that will benefit you regardless of what you decide in the future.

Do you guys usually change out all four tires at the same time? Or just the rears mostly?

run Hankooks, they work fine for me, mostly hwy, I've changed out just rears and not fronts a few times, but I stay with the same brand...
side note I run a 255/40/19 front and a 305/30/19 rear.
