OP, CT, lemme throw in my 2 cents.
I agree not all cast wheels are made equal
I think Vossen has some sexy designs, their 5 spoke thing is amazing IMO.
BUT I have probably heard about more Vossens breaking on a DD than friggin Varrstoens.
And I have personally seen accidents involving Volks. Like, guy hits a curb at 30-45 jumps on the curb, and the Volk ends up with a small bend. I have even seen REPAIRED Volks hit the same curb at 30-45 in ALMOST the same spot and STILL be barely bent... Hell, I've hit some big arse potholes at high speed and have yet bent a Volk, the same potholes that bent my buddy's IS250 wheel

Now, taking that into account, IMO there are a few safety features on a car that are owner dictated (in order of importance in my mind.)
Tires, brakes, wheels, lug nuts.

That being said, my goal is function, then form, so for me, I'd rather bleed the extra grand or so to have the peace of mind knowing that the wheels will take a beating over design of the wheel, and if push comes to shove and I hit soemthing and my tire has gone out, I'll drive on them to safety too, lol

CV3 is the sexxxy design :yum:

And hey, different strokes for different folks. (As long as the OP doesn't do hellafuckinretarded stance, I'm ok with the CV3 choice)

I've never had a wheel break, forged or un forged and stock wheels suck, Forged or un forged. Ordered new wheels within the first few days of ownership of my Nismo and the same with my SRT8 which also has forged wheels and neither set of aftermarket wheels have cracked, bent, broke or whatever BS someone can makeup to make them seem inferior. If you want to run nothing but stock wheels and drive on shitty pot hole ridden streets, then Kudos to you, but don't knock the rest.

Not into that silly looking stance ****. Just wanted an opinion on a set of wheels. Do you guys always argue over threads people make? I thought we were a Z nation...

JC-Nismo 12-25-2014 11:56 PM

Some opinions turn into personal shots, like what someone else does is backwards because another chooses to do otherwise. It's called my car and your car, do what choose and let that be that, if you don't like something, that's cool too, but don't make it seem like one is lesser than the other or moving in the wrong direction because another suggest so based on personal likes and dislikes.

We try to have adult discussions.

There's a right and wrong way to do things that's all I posted and that's all there is to it. IDGAF what other people do to their cars. It's a free country. This is a discussion forum so don't take things so personally if you don't like someone else's opinion.

Saying someone's point is not valid just because that person never experienced a broken wheel does not mean wheels won't break. My work equips cracked after going over a pothole. I'm sure glad I wasn't riding on Vossens

Good stuff JC! I don't plan on racing it or anything, just something nice and sporty me and the wife can take out on date night.

Z Group,

One of my brothers in arms just found out he's having triplets and has to part ways with his GTR and is going back OEM to trade it in. He offered to sell me his wheels but I'm not sure if they will fit on my 370z without me making any mods. I have the base model. He has the 20x9 front and 20x10.5 rear. I emailed VOSSEN, but haven't received a reply. If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it.

CV3s are good looking wheels. Just take them for free  tell him it's down payment for when they need a cool baby sitter lol

Exactly, you don't wanna look like every Z you see on the road and make sure you post some pics when you get those baby's mounted.
