Stock Sports Tire Size
 

I know this topic has been beat to death and believe me I did do a lot of searching and research before I posted on here.

Basically I need to get tires. I decided to go with the Bridgestone S-04's. My question is,

For the fronts should I go with
1. 255/40/19
2. 265/35/19

My backs are gonna be 285/35/19 (still can't decide if I should go 305/30/19)

Car is stock height with no spacers.

I went with a 255/40/19 front and a 305/30/19 rear, if that helps...The 305 rears just looks right, 285's are still too small IMO.

I'm also thinking about going 305/30 on the rears. Just wasn't sure if it would fit. I know the RE-11's fit but will the S-04's fit?

Should, tire size is tire size, with the 305/30/19 there is still a lot of room, if I had wider wheels a 345 would fit no problem.

Remember every lb of rotational mass is equivalent to 10 pounds carried in the car

I'll need tires in a few months and was thinking 265/35/19 and 285/35/19 to keep the stagger close and keep the beefy look with the S04s. Im running stock size PSS right now but they seem to run wide compared to others and already looked beefy enough. I have 20 mm spacers all around. I don't think a 305 is really necessary on stock sport wheels, especially if you want to stray away from understeer with such a big stagger.

I have seen stock stock sport wheels with 305's, stock height and no spacers and it looks a little silly having a squished tire on there when its still sunk in the wheel well so much.

For a 305 the wheel should be at least 11" our rear sport wheels i believe is only 10". As stated above its like a big bellied guy with a waist of 41 trying to fit on a 36' jeans.

Well smart guy how does the size of my butt equates for every lbs of non rotational mass carried in my car? Lol

I'm just trying to help the guy out. Our car is all about power to weight ratio. Nimble like Spider-Man yet strong. We're non hulk that why we can move around better at autoX. The thing is...do we really NEED wider tires to put the 300ish WHP down? Or is stock size better quality tires better than going wider plus adding more weight. This is why people go with 2 piece rotors to save rotational mass weight isn't it?

In addition to stock sizes, I've run 255/285, 265/285, and 265/305 all on the stock sport rims. You're not going to notice a bit of difference unless you are driving the car hard at an auto-x or at the track. And at that level, the type of tire you are using makes way more difference than the sizing. Hell, even street driving the tire is going to make a more noticeable difference than a minimal change in sizing. I usually have my tire picked out but pick sizing based on my budget at the time they need replacement. If tracking or auto-x it's all about performance, so I would want to evaluate various combinations myself in those environments.

yah, do the nismo sizes... 245/40/19 and 285/35/19.

Bigger is better, i'm putting these on my Z next!!

I am running a 305 on a 10.5" wheel and I think it looks and performs great.
