OEM TPMS Longevity

A tire shop told me that the oem tpms sensors normally last about 4 to 5 years and will need to replace either due to batteries or defects.

I know that the Z's have been out about that time frame and wondered if anyone has to replace them? Thx.

They went out at 5 years on my 2008 Maxima.
