Wheel Locks
 

Just curious about your opinions about the need/effectiveness of wheel locks. I have 'Work' wheels and was wondering about putting some locks on them.

I have black tuner narrow lug nuts and have a hard time finding a set that match well (1.75 in long & about .75 in wide). I just want to add a lock on each wheels and don't want to replace them all as a complete set.

Wheel locks only keep the honest thieves honest. Any serious thief is not deterred by wheel locks. They will just load it up on a flat bed if they have to. I would say it depends on the risk (no garage, bad neighborhood, etc). You're better off with tilt sensor alarm if you're really worried :twocents:

Unless he's low risk for wheel theft and can't find any that look good with his current set of lugs. But generally speaking, yes. Wheel locks are better than nothing. That is why I have them on my Z even though I garage it at night and park it in a small 9 car lot during the day at work. I'm definitely low risk.

Yeah... I agree that most would probably just take the car. The locks might work with amateurs though.

Can the tilt sensors be added to the oem alarm?

I recommend these. Dency 2000 dual locking.

^those are for european applications though, they have some for our cars.

im parked in a garage at night..as I daily drive my 2010 Nismo...
2 sets of wheel locks - tilt sensors - remote - paging alarm system....

I try my best to keep my wheels and my Nismo........

In the end if someone has bad intentions at least I did my very best
to protect my Nismo...

I am pretty low risk, but my thinking about wheel locks is just to discourage the amateurs. I probably wouldn't worry about it if I had the stock Rays, but I currently have the Work VS wheels which might be tempting for some.

I just want to get some regular locks, but am having a hard time finding a matching set to my current lug nuts.

My friend had a set of aftermarket wheels on his legend in high school and each wheel had 1 locking lug nut. Came out to his car in the morning, started driving it and noticed something was wrong. It turns out that someone had stolen all of his OEM lug nuts and left the locking ones on there (I guess they gave up?) but stole his OEM nuts. Annoying that they stole his OEM nuts, but might have saved his wheels.

that's terrible. as many stated, wheel lock isn't 100% thief-proof. it is better than nothing, relatively speaking.

What are the best wheel locks on the market for aftermarket wheels. Only knowledgeable folks response required.

Clamp Car Wheel Locks never fails. Fcuks with that.
