If you are looking for answers, please post with enough description that we can know what you are talking about and answer you with an educational response. Some of these guys that have responded are actually well educated on the Z and could probably give you some good answers, but they also have a sense of humor and will give you a hard time when being vague  |

For color on a Platinum Graphite...I'd lean towards matte black myself. You don't want to go a dark silver because if you don't do it just right, the wheel color will look funny next to the body. As far as where to powdercoat, you might try your respective location section to see if anyone knows of a good shop near you. if you are willing to ship, talk to Mike here on the forums, he does great work. |
Bleh @ vague opening posts...
Color ideas? It's your car, you should powdercoat to a color you feel comfortable with. Don't go and colorize the wheel because some of us on the forum said it'd look good. I'd suggest looking through the photoshop thread or something to get rough ideas of what to expect with different colors, but generally I'd shy away from powdercoating anywhere close to the body color, as (what Caravan said) any differences will look kind of funny. Black is a popular choice, but eh, to each their own! And yellow pages might help you more for WHERE. Unless you do want to talk to Mike here on the boards. |

I have a guy that does it for 75 a wheel and turns them in 2-3 days if anyone needs help.

To the OP, I had my stock wheels powdercoated to use as winter wheels. Went with flat black (guy at the shop called it solar black). They charged $60 per wheel which was very reasonable IMO.

seriously OP, talk to mike, if you need something powdercoated, he's the guy you want to do it |
So have been shopping around to get my wheels done, even pulled out of an appointment after seeing some wheel samples they had done (not impressed). I have found a good shop near where I live that is used to dealing with very high end cars, and they are wanting to charge $740 for the whole job, including the paint, mounting and balancing.
This seems way high to me after seeing what everyone else here is paying. To those that got the job done for less than $500 what was included in package? The paint I am getting needs to be mixed, it will be very similar, perhaps a tad darker, than the wheels that come on the 40th anniversary Z. |

I may have misspoke, but the wheels are still being powdercoated. The shop sent me straight to the place that mixes the color/paint for me to select the exact color sample I wanted so there will be no surprises. I get them done the first week of Jan so I will be sure to post pics after, they will be similar to a competition gun-metal and I was adamant about them looking like they came from the factory that way after the fact, so hopefully they don't disappoint. |

I dont know about 22's but ive had 19's powdercaoted matte black b4 and i was charged 90 bucks per wheel. I think for 19's most shops charge between 75 and 100 per wheel.
