any quotes on pricing? i have some 22s i wanna powdercoat and are curious how much its gonna cost

A local shop charged me $400 to powdercoat my wheels (including tax). Could be cheaper or more expensive depending on where a person lives.

I have a guy that does it for 75 a wheel and turns them in 2-3 days if anyone needs help.

To the OP, I had my stock wheels powdercoated to use as winter wheels. Went with flat black (guy at the shop called it solar black). They charged $60 per wheel which was very reasonable IMO.

If by darker silver you mean yours is Platinum Graphite, then the pic below with flat black wheels on PG may help. It's no Nismo, but might give you an idea.

So have been shopping around to get my wheels done, even pulled out of an appointment after seeing some wheel samples they had done (not impressed). I have found a good shop near where I live that is used to dealing with very high end cars, and they are wanting to charge $740 for the whole job, including the paint, mounting and balancing.

This seems way high to me after seeing what everyone else here is paying. To those that got the job done for less than $500 what was included in package?

The paint I am getting needs to be mixed, it will be very similar, perhaps a tad darker, than the wheels that come on the 40th anniversary Z.

My $400 price for a set requires the wheels to come to me unmounted and just covers the refinishing, not mounting or balancing. Their price is a little high, but unmounting and then remounting is probably about 150, but if you let them take care of everything, especially with paint instead of powdercoat, they will be responsible for making sure they don't get scraped when reinstalling, and that would be worth the extra to me. Imagine if you took them to a tire shop after having them painted and the tire shop scraped one, that would cause a headache.

That's a great point, thanks for the heads up. I will probably go ahead with them, as they made me feel quite comfortable with their level of expertise.
I may have misspoke, but the wheels are still being powdercoated. The shop sent me straight to the place that mixes the color/paint for me to select the exact color sample I wanted so there will be no surprises.

I get them done the first week of Jan so I will be sure to post pics after, they will be similar to a competition gun-metal and I was adamant about them looking like they came from the factory that way after the fact, so hopefully they don't disappoint.
